Photos are up from Maria Forde's ADVICE PORTRAITS show. (Peruse at will). Thanks to all that came out to the opening, it was quite the happening. Maria's work looks great and her zine Longview is a phenomomenal folk-wisdom filled masterpiece. Get one before they're gone! Seriously - We started with 60 copies at the opening and only have 10 left! Supply and demand baby! Maria's moving some units!

What could be better than the return of film making hobo and American road dog, Bill Daniel (Mostly True, Who's Bozo Texino); paired up with train hopping documentarian, recent TV Books author/photographer Santiago Mostyn (known accomplice of the Polaroid Kidd)??? Expect photographic prints, writings, video, and ephemera of contemporary Americana - Early 90's SF street grafitti, river boats (MIss Rockaway), and imagery of wandering North America on freight trains.

KQED did a nice description and articulate write-up of Stolen Land. I'm not sure if it's a positive review of the show or not, but some how it doesn't seem to matter because the article is so well written. Check it out for yourself. Oh, and incase you were wondering, WE'RE OPEN UNTIL 9PM TONIGHT and until 8pm every damn day until XMAS.
....but note that, WE'LL BE CLOSED the 25TH & 26TH

Thanks to everyone that made it out to the opening of Other's Stolen Land on Friday (and helped make it such a rad event). The evening was filled with good conversation, friendly faces, and great art - what else can you ask for??. Other really did it up, the work is beautiful, visually stunning, thought provoking, and at times even a bit haunting. ...How's that for a review?? Also, many thanks to Porous Walker for providing the evenings refreshments (courtesy of Francis Coppola).

Vote For Survival is a series of limited edition signs, silk-screened on wood signboards. Vote For Survival is a call to action, and a reminder of what is really important as this election nears. Original papercuts will also be exhibited including artwork from the 2009 calendar “Wake Up”, book covers, and new work inspired by the summer of berries and boats." Artist will be in attendance.
